First Blog Assignment: Guys in Lit/Cheng

I think that Victor’s journey is similar to Luke’s because of the challenges they have. Luke and Victor both represent hero figures in that they both encounter a person who will protect them, and they both meet a “goddess.” However they are different in the way they save a significant character.

In Star Wars Luke’s protector is a supernatural assistant named Ben, aka Obi Won K. Luke hears Ben telling him “let the force be with you” when he is in trouble. Victor’s protector is Thomas Builds a Fire. He tells many stories and also lends him some money.

Another thing that they have in common is meeting the goddess. Luke meets Princess Lea, and Victor meets Cathy. Luke sees Princess Lea in R2D2 projector and really wants to meet her. Victor meets Cathy on the airplane down to Arizona. They talked most of the flight.

The two things that are different between the two heroes were that they had to save different people in different ways. In Luke’s journey he had to save Princess Lea from the death-star. He had to save her in a more of a physical the victor saved Thomas in a mental way. Victor has to save Thomas because Thomas has to tell is stories to some one. So they both saved people but in A different way.

So in Star Wars and Arizona both the heroes have similar goals and action that they have to do to help and save people, and in saving people that’s what makes them heroes. They all so hade different heroic actions
